UPDATING FARMERS MASTER LIST FOR DIFFERENT MUNICIPALITIES
Agriculture is one of the important sector in-charge for the production of basic needs of the populace including the production crops and animal products. To identify the key players involve in the different activities of agriculture, the government tried to conduct extensive survey of farmers during the National Farmers Registry System (NFRS) spearheaded by the Department of Agriculture. Geo-tagging of the different farmer structures was included as one major activity. In later part, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) had also conducted its own version of agricultural survey known as the Registry System for Basic Sector on Agriculture (RSBSA) . However the survey had some limitations since much of the farmers were not included in the enumeration. Thus the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 8 (letter inserted below) had issued a letter dated January 11, 2017 urging municipal agriculture offices to conduct updating of the list of farmers in the municipalities.
Last February 3 to 17, the personnel of the office of the municipal agriculturist had started conducting a barangay to barangay survey of the farmers. In behalf of our entire agriculture staff, we would like to send our warmest thanks to the different barangay officials who had extended their full support of the program. Below are some documentations of the activities;
